Dyer Engineering: Proud supporters of LUMIERE 2015

26th October 2015

Dyer Engineering is delighted to have supported Elisa Artesero (UK) in the creation of her artwork DREAMERS to be exhibited at the UK’s largest light festival Lumiere which returns to Durham this November.

Artesero’s work addresses themes of transience, the nature of happiness and hope and by using the latest laser technology, Dyer Engineering has produced the large letters of mirror and steel which will be scattered across the ground, casting shadows as they go.

Using light and shadow, her work reveals the ephemeral parts of our own nature and this artwork  joins a programme created by an international array of artists to light the city once more in spectacular and unexpected ways

This project has been an exciting opportunity for Dyer Engineering to showcase to the local and wider communities our talent and allowed our engineers and graduates the unique experience of working closely with an artistic mind to produce the pieces from her vision.

Graeme Parkins (MD) commented “We relish a challenge at Dyer Engineering and jumped at the chance to work on this piece. Our problem-solving techniques are usually applied in an industrial setting, such as oil rigs or diesel engines, but we have really enjoyed creating this large-scale art installation”
